About me
Even before she could walk, dance was already a part of Irene's life. Motivated by her mother's love of dance, she began taking classical, modern and folk dance classes from a very young age, as well as any artistic discipline that could contribute to her personal development. And when she discovered the circus, she discovered a way to take her dance off the ground and combine all the arts that she was so passionate about. Dance, acrobatics, theatre and music came together on a single stage and this seemed to be a dream come true.
Training in every workshop and school she could, Irene has been on stage for as long as she can remember. But as she has always said, she is an artist by profession, and a teacher by vocation. Even before she knew what she wanted to do in life, she knew she wanted to teach.
This is how she never stops learning as an artist and as a teacher to continue filling stages and sharing her passion with more people. After working for almost a decade at La Tarumba (2015 – 2023) as a teacher and circus artist, she is currently seeking to take her talent to other countries and share her passion for the circus with the world. In 2021, she is starting her personal project Kuyuy de Irene Laynes to share her artistic knowledge with more people.
